POONCH, July 6: A poor villager from Mendhar Sub Division of district Poonch is under severe shock after he reveived a whopping electricity bill worth over Rs 10 crores for the month of May from the PDD Sub Division Mendhar.
The villager Mohd Hanief, son of Feroz Din from Gugran village was sent a bill from the office of AEE, PDD Sub Division Mendhar two days ago. The bill is for the period from May Ist 2020 to May 31, 2020, against the Consumer ID 0107040013753. The Bill amount as mentioned is Rs 10,08,38,138.00.
The worried villager rushed to the Sarpanch and narrated the matter. Then they contacted Tehsildar Mendhar and the PDD office as well. The PDD staff turned ignorant of the matter.
Tehsildar, Dr Vikram said the matter has come to his notice and he also saw bill on social media. He said inquiry is being initiated into the matter. But it appears as computer error.
AEE, PDD Mendhar Sub Division. Maqbool when contacted claimed that it was computer error and the staff sent the bill without verifying it . Now, it has been corrected, he claimed.
