PDD official suspended for violating COVID SOP

POONCH, Sept 15: An official of Power Development Department (PDD) was suspended today for violating COVID-19 SOPs.
According to a spokesperson of DC Office, Poonch, Lokesh Kumar (Computer Assistant, PDD Office, Poonch) son of Ashok Kumar, resident of Mohalla Khorinar, tehsil Haveli, district Poonch, was confirmed as COVID-19 positive on September 11 and was home isolated with the instruction to strictly follow SOP related to home Isolation issued by the Health authorities.
“However, violating home isolation SOP, the PDD official reached Mandi and put into danger the health of community at large,” the spokesperson said, adding, keeping in view such lackadaisical attitude, the PDD official was placed under suspension with immediate effect by Deputy Commissioner Poonch, Rahul Yadav.
Meanwhile, Executive Engineer, PDD Poonch have been asked to initiate disciplinary action against the accused official under Disaster Management Act and other relevant laws and submit action taken report to the DC office.
