JAMMU, Sept 16: A need based worker of Power Development Department (PDD) died today after receiving electric current in Trikuta Nagar area of city outskirts.
“The deceased has been identified as Pradeep (30) son of Som Nath, resident of Akhnoor,” a police official said. He said that Pradeep received severe electric shock this morning and fell down from a tree while he was engaged in departmental work of cutting branches of the trees in Sector-3 of Trikuta Nagar.
The official said in unconscious condition the injured man was rushed to Government Medical College and Hospital, Jammu, where he was declared as brought dead by the doctors. “After postmortem, the body was handed over to its legal heirs for last rites while inquest proceeding under 174 CrPC was initiated in this connection at police station Trikuta Nagar.
