UDHAMPUR, May 22: A PDD lineman, who had received electric shock while repairing some fault on an electric pole on May16, today succumbed to his injuries at District Hospital Udhampur.
The deceased has been identified as Ramesh Kumar son of Basant Ram of Ladden Power House, Udhampur.
In another case, a youth namely Parkash Chand son of Thoru Ram sustained electric shock at his residence in Panchari block of Udhampur. He was rushed to PHC Chenani and his condition was stated to be stable.
Meanwhile, an injured youth was found lying unconscious under the mysterious circumstance at in Army area near MI Room National Highway. Identified as Krishan Singh son of Des Raj of Garhi, the youth was brought to District Hospital Udhampur. Till last report came in, he was not in a position to give a statement to police.
Meanwhile, a minor boy was electrocuted near bus stand area, falling under the jurisdiction of Nowabad police station.
As per reports, 13 year old Baba ji, son of Kamal Singh, resident of Delhi, was electrocuted when he came in contact with a high tension wire near JP chowk, near bus stand.
He was shifted to Government Medical College and Hospital (GMCH), where doctors pronounced him as brought dead.
The body was handed over to family members for last rites after completion of legal formalities.
A case has been registered and investigations are on.
