JAMMU, Aug 4: Bari Brahamana Industries Association (BBIA) has alleged that Power Development Department (PDD) has failed to provide uninterrupted power supply to the Industrial units in Bari Brahmana complex.
A meeting of Bari Brahmana Industries Association (BBIA) was held today under the presidentship of Lalit Mahajan in presence of Tarun Singla senior vice president, Ajay Langer vice president, Viraaj Malhotra general secretary, Rajesh Jain secretary and Vivek Singhal treasurer BBIA, and raised serious concern as System & Operation Wing of PDD failed to supply uninterrupted power to Industrial units of Bari Brahmana Industrial Complex.
They said at present the units located in the Bari Brahmana Industrial area are suffering very badly due to unscheduled power cuts during the day time and two hours curtailment in the evening imposed for the supply of power from the BB-I Receiving Station. It is a matter of great concern that the power supply from BB-I Receiving Station depends on the mercy of the System and Operation Wing of the PDD, which impose frequent power cuts without any intimation to the Unit Holders resulting huge Financial losses to the unit holders. The matter has been brought into the knowledge of the Chief Engineer System and Operation but every time the lame excuses are given.
They pointed out that the System & Operation Wing has connected the domestic load of the adjoining areas to the dedicated Receiving Station of the Industrial complex resulting unscheduled power cut reported from our Member Units in spite of the facts that the Industrial Units of Bari Brahmana paying nearly Rs 150 crores annually to PDD. The power cuts have caused massive losses to the units engaged in the manufacturing Steel/Plastic and other related products and also the Units spending huge amount on the purchase of diesel to run their units on DG Set in case of unscheduled Power cuts.
The BBIA requested the Rohit Kansal, Principal Secretary, Power Development Department and Yasha Mudgal, Managing Director, Jammu Power Distribution Corporation to kindly intervene into the matter with the directions to the Chief Engineer, System & Operation, Jammu Power Distribution Corporation for the restoration of 24 hours power supply to the Industrial Units of Bari Brahmana.
