JAMMU, Dec 26: Electric Sub Division-I of Power Development Department (PDD) disconnected 19 illegal connections today during a mass disconnection drive.
Four inspection teams headed by Assistant Executive Engineer along with Assistant Engineer, Feeder Managers and other field staff conducted inspections in different sections of Electric Sub Division-I, Gandhi Nagar, Jammu of Power Distribution Corporation Limited.
To check the pilferage of power and to recover outstanding arrears from the defaulters, the teams disconnected 19 illegal connections to jhuggies during the inspection drive in Trikuta Nagar, Sainik Colony, Bathindi and Channi sections. Besides, outstanding arrears amounting to Rs 23, 50, 276 were also recovered from the defaulters.
