JAMMU, July 19: In support of their long pending demands, All J&K PDD Daily Wagers Union staged one day protest demonstration at Chief Engineer, EM&RE Wing Jammu’s Office premises, here today.
The protesters showed resentment against the indifferent attitude of the authorities towards the Daily Wagers, particularly of Jammu district.
They said that the Daily Wagers are eagerly waiting for holding of DPC for their regularisation on permanent posts after promotion since 2013, as at that time Daily Wagers were assured regarding the same by the then Chief Engineer, adding that no DPC has been convened for regularization /Promotion till date.
The Union said that the Chief Engineer, EM&RE Wing Jammu, who is the convener of the DPC, has now convened the DPC for the same purpose, however it is apprehended that only 117 Daily Wagers are going to be regularised after DPC.
The Union further stated that various posts are going to fall vacant on the basis of promotions in District Jammu and the SE Circle-1 Jammu will be in a position to provide accurate data of vacant posts where these Daily Wagers can be elevated or promoted/regularised in the Department after July 30, 2019.
The Union leaders said that the sole purpose of staging the protest was to show resentment against withholding any kind of DPC at Jammu District level, to enable Daily Wagers get a proper chance of regularisation.
Those who attended the protest demonstration were Chinta Mani Singh, Sr Vice President, Parveen Sharma, Provincial Organiser, S Dara Singh, Vijay Gandhi, Gurnam Slathia, GM Bhat, Shakeel Ahmed, Gautam Mehra, Sonu Kumar, Rakesh Kumar, Raj Kumar Sharma, Sanjeev Sharma, Liaqat Ali, Vijay Sharma, Sarwan Kumar, Ramesh Kumar and Ajay Kumar.
