These workers had launched protest dharna in the office complex of SE PDD (M&RE) on November 28, 2016 and since then, the Government did not bother to resolve their issues. Even the MLAs from Jammu are mute spectators to their burning issues. Strong resentment against locals BJP MLAs and ministers is brewing among the youth, daily wagers and general masses in Jammu.
The workers after protest demonstration took out Aakrosh Rally towards old city but they were stopped by strong contingent of police near Dogra Chowk. The workers then sat on dharna on the road and disrupted the movement of vehicles for some time. The police, however, later cleared the road.
The Union President and some others addressed the gathering and issued appeal to the Dy Chief Minister Dr Nirmal Singh to resolve the pending issues of the workers. Chairman of the Union Bharat Singh also addressed the workers and condemned the attitude of the Government. They warned to further intensify the agitation. Gurnam Slathia vice chairman and Ashwani Kumar also spoke on the occasion.
