SRINAGAR, Jan 1: Daily wagers of PDD and PDC held protest demonstrations at circle level in Kashmir Valley demanding their immediate regularization and promotion.
The protests besides, Srinagar City were held in Pulwama, Baramulla and other places. The protestors expressed serious concern over delaying tactics of the authorities in not issuing the regularisation orders by convener DPC Kashmir since January last year. They said the DPC was convened in January last year and since one year has passed the regularization orders have not been issued.
The protestors said that over 2000 daily wagers of PDD are facing a bleak future due to the failure of authorities in issuing the regularisation orders. Terming the convening of DPC an eye wash they alleged that the authorities are deliberately delaying the regularization process to suppress the poor workers who are not able to make their both ends meet in the present crisis.
They said despite rendering dedicated services to the Department for last about ten years the authorities are negating their dedication and playing with their future.
The protestors said that the issue was taken up with the Commissioner/Sectary Power also and he has given assurance that the orders will be issued soon. They said pinning high hopes in Commissioner/Secretary, Power the daily wagers are hopeful that orders will be issued soon.
They also warned that in case the orders were further delayed they will be against forced to launch agitation.
