JAMMU, Mar 12: PDD casual labourers in a meeting here today constituted a body under the name and style J&K PDD Casual Labourers Union, Jammu Province.
As per a release the meeting was chaired by Ch Sampooran Singh.
Addressing the meeting Sampooran Singh said that the casual labourers who were on strike for 21 days continuously have not gained any attention of the Government forcing them to constitute a separate body.
The Union declared that it will work for the cause of the poor casual labourers of Jammu province and will fight for their genuine rights.
He urged the Government to release Rs 6.5 core meant for casual labourers otherwise the Union will launch the agitation.
Ch. Sampooran Singh was elected as provincial president of the Union, Mulkh Raj senior vice president, Balwant Lal general secretary, Gurmeet Singh, chief organiser, Mohan Lal treasurer and Jia Lal joint secretary.
