JAMMU, Dec 31: A book in Dogri language namely “Doaar” which is a translated version of “Parwaaz” was released here.
The book was released by Mona Singh, Principal Commissioner of Income Tax, Jammu, who was the chief guest on the occasion. She had all the words of praise for the book and the writer and translator of the book.
The original book is written by SK Sharma, Additional Commissioner of Income Tax, Jammu which was launched on September 18, 2019. This book is basically a compilation of Hindustani Plays which have already been staged at Jammu and outside Jammu also.
This book has been translated into Dogri language by Sunil Sharma an Engineer by profession who is an acknowledged writer and has written three books of his own.
Sunil Sharma feels proud to have translated this book in Dogri language because he is deeply touched with the content of the original text and volunteered himself to undertake this passionate cause of translating the book in Dogri Language.
The critical appreciation of the book was made by Prof Veena Gupta who is Sahitya Akademy Award Winner and former HoD of Dogri Department Jammu University.
The event was presided over by Darshan Darshi, Sahitya Akademy Award Winner who is convener of Dogri Advisory Board Sahitya Akademy, New Delhi who also had all the praise for the content of the book and its wonderful translation in Dogri language.
Both the writer and translator being sons of the soil strongly feel that Dogri culture in the form of art, language and in spirit need to be uplifted. This is basically a small and sincere attempt made in that direction. They are of the view that in future also such endeavours will be made to promote the Dogra culture in whatsoever form.
Prominent personalities present were Padamshree Jatinder Udhampuri, Padamshree Ved Ghai, Sahitya Akademy Award Winners, Gianeshwer, Mohan Singh, Shiv Dev Singh Sushil and Shailender Singh, SSP.
Other prolific writers who graced the occasion were Khalid Hussain, Prof Shashi Pathania, Nirmal Vinod and others.
Dr Mukund Lal Sharma, Cardiac Surgeon, Vinod Sachdeva, a leading business man, Pardeep Gandotra, Munish Gupta, General Secretary of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Neeraj Anand, President Retailers Association, Vijay Saraf, Secretary Amar Singh Club and other prominent Citizens from all walks of life were also present on the occasion.
All the officers of the Income Tax Department were also present.
