PCC reviews preparations for Pad Yatra on Aug 9

JAMMU, Aug 3: A preparatory  meeting of Congress workers, organized by Yogesh Sawhney general secretary incharge District president Jammu Urban was held at party office Shaheedi Chowk today, wherein, the preparations for ‘Pad Yatra’ starting from August 9 were discussed.
JKPCC working president, Raman Bhalla who chaired the meeting said that, the Congress party is under taking ‘Pad Yatra’ starting from  August9, 2022 and the entire leadership and cadre of the party will participate in it.
Congress Patty’s Bharat Jodo Yatra, which will cover around 3,500 km and go through about 12 states and two Union Territories,   and make aware the general public about the wrong doings of the Modi Govt who is giving the repeated attacks on democracy, the country’s Constitution, the nation’s institutions and the social fabric of society.
Bhalla said that  the Indian National Congress pays rich tributes to all those who fought for India’s freedom, those who defeated the politics of divide and rule, those who came together to give the country, its great Constitution, and those who put India on the path of progress, prosperity, social justice and harmony .
“Today, as the politics of hate is being practiced by those who never took part in our country’s freedom  movement, and whose ideologies resulted in the assassination of the Father of the Nation, the Bharat Jodo Yatra is being launched as a nation-wide movement to unite, every Indian who is committed to the protection, preservation and promotion of the values anchored in our country’s freedom movement, led by Mahatma Gandhi,” he added.
The rally will unite every Indian who is dedicated to fighting the politics of hatred, bigotry and polarization and who believes that instead of divisive politics, the focus of governance should be on providing productive jobs to crores of   young people, easing the burden on crores of our families of the intolerable price rise of essential commodities,   ensuring the welfare and well-being of Kisans and Khet Mazdoors,”
He asked that party functionaries to take part in the Yatra,  voluntarily in the larger interest of the nation.
Sawhney  assigned the duties of DCC, BCC and Ward functionaries  for under taking Bharat Jodo Yatra  within the Municipal areas of Jammu City and its out skirts.
The meeting  was also attended by Manmohan Singh, Rajveer Singh, Krishan  Lal Gupta, Gurdarshan Singh, Sanjeev Panda,  Thomas Khokhar,  Amrit Bali, Jatinder Singh,  Mandeep Singh,  Chander Shekhar Sharma,  Uttam Singh,  Dewarka Choudhary,  Rittu Choudhary, Pritam Singh and others.
