Addressing the protesters, Mir said, “ Such organisations are trying to bring anarchy in our country. They do not respect our Constitution. By recreating the assassination of Mahatma Gandhi, they insulted the citizens of India who are real patriots. They questioned our freedom which was attained through the sacrifices of our beloved national leaders.
Mir said by recreating a murder, such organisations are trying to inject hatred in the young generation. As a citizen of India, we all should condemn this act. By recreating the assassination, Hindu Mahasabha questioned the self respect of every Indian. It is clear that Hindu Mahasabha and its relating associations are against the interests of our nation, Mir added.”
PCC chief further added, “Hindu Mahasabha does not involve itself in any national building activities. Its main agenda is to spread hatred and violence in the name of religion. We all know Mahatma Gandhi led the nation’s struggle for freedom. Now they are trying to assassinate the thoughts of Mahatma Gandhi. The BJP is supporting these anti-nationals. But in the upcoming election, people will teach a lesson to BJP and its allies.
Speaking on the occasion, Bhalla said that this country is still inspired by Mahatma Gandhi and his preaching of peace and non-violence. It can never be overshadowed by the action of Godse or his followers. The Government must book them for treason for this blatant anti-national act and also ban the ABHM,” Bhalla said.
Prominent among those who participated in the protest include former ministers- Mula Ram, Rigzin Jora, RS Chib, Mohd Sharief Niaz and Suman Bhagat; Ravinder Sharma (ex-MLC), Th Balwan Singh (ex-MLA), Rajnish Sharma, Manmohan Singh, ex- MLA Asgar Ali Karbalai, Vikram Malhotra, Hari Singh Chib, Cong Mahila Wing president Indu Pawar (ex-MLA), Suresh Dogra, PYC chief Udhay Banu Chib, Satish Sharma, Amrit Bali, Jai Singh and others.
