SAMBA, July 27: Senior Congress leader and member, Pradesh Congress Committee (PCC), Arun Sharma along with Congress workers held an election campaign rally here today in Kandi area of Vijaypur constituency, Rajinder Pura.
The Congress workers alleged discrimination by the local MLA in respect of developmental workers and urged the party to take up the matter at high level. The workers demanded RBA status to Kandi area, a special recruitment drive in the drought area for absorption of local unemployed youth in police as well as civil service besides banning appointment of daily wagers.
Addressing the gathering, Arun Sharma assured the party workers that their demands and grievances would be taken up with the high command. He also appealed the local media to highlight the demands.
He said Modi wave has gone with storm. Now, the people of Jammu once again have returned in the favour of Congress, which is the only secular party. He appealed the people to support Congress in coming Assembly election.
Prominent among those present were Bishamber Singh, Anil Khajuria, Shatish Dubey, Tara Mani, Gian Bhagat, Rajesh Kumar, Baisakhi Ram, Rehmat Ali, Saleem Mohd, Mohan Lal, Dev Raj, Ram Chand, Bodh Raj, Hem Raj, Bachno Devi and others.
