Pawan refutes allegation of possessing State land

UDHAMPUR, Dec 19: Former Minister and Ex MLA, Pawan Kumar Gupta today refuted the allegations of possessing State land in revenue village Dandyal or anywhere in Udhampur.
While addressing a hurriedly called press conference, here today, he refuted the allegation pertaining to himself or his brothers namely Dr Jogeshwar Gupta or Rajesh Gupta of being beneficiaries under Roshni Act or being in possession of any State land as alleged by JKNPP president Balwant Singh Mankotia.
Mr Gupta also produced a copy of official letter of Tehsildar Udhampur, No. TUDR/RTI/2020-21/62-63, dated 19-12-2020 in reply to RTI submitted by himself, according to which, no record entry stand in his name or of his brothers namely Jogeshwar Gupta or Rajesh Gupta alias Raju in the village Dandyal, tehsil and district Udhampur.
Pawan Gupta also claimed that he had never occupied any Government accommodation either being Minister or MLA and frivolous allegations of his being defaulter of electricity department for having not paid dues of his official bungalow at Jammu and Srinagar were aimed to tarnish his public image.
“My past record is very clean and open book before the public which cannot be tarnished be lavelling false and frivolous allegations by persons like Mankotia and that too without any record or proof or any iota of evidence,” he added.
“So far as the land underneath residential building is concerned, the same is inherited land from my forefathers and is well placed on revenue record,” he further said.
Pawan Gupta said that before raising any finger on him, Balwant Singh Mankotia should introspect his own past record and financial status, including property details before being elected as MLA as well as those acquired after coming to power.
Mr Gupta further announced that he would put on notice all those who were involved in spreading misinformation against him and his family with a view to malign his public image.
