JAMMU, May 19: Fulfilling a long pending demand of residents of Darsoo Gudar area, MLA Udhampur, Pawan Gupta today kick-started blacktopping of Darsoo -Gudar road Part -II, to be constructed at an estimated cost of Rs 6.09 crore.
He was accompanied by Executive Engineer Ashok Khokar PMGSY, AEE DK Modi, AE Aatish Bhardwaj & contactor Pranab Gupta.
The local residents apprised the MLA that these areas have been facing power and water crisis for several years. They demanded that steps be taken to settle these problems once for all.
MLA assured the people that within days a hand-pump will be installed at Main Chowk of Baghey Mata Shrine. MLA also assured the residents of the area that their legitimate demands would be fulfilled in a phased manner. On the occasion local people expressed gratitude to MLA. They expressed the hope that a new chapter of development will begin in the area.
A local resident said that MLA has fulfilled his election commitment. The blacktopping of road will redress the problems faced by locals especially women and students.
While speaking on the occasion, Pawan Gupta assured sustained equitable development both in urban and rural areas of Udhampur constituency. He divulged that various developmental works are in progress in all over the constituency and he is committed to provide basic amenities to the people.
Several people present on this occasion included Raju Chandail, Mohd. Ashraf, Kaka Ram, Rohit Sethi (youth icon), Subash Sharma, Kaka Ram, Babu Din ex-Panch and dozens of local residents and political activists of the area.
