JAMMU, July 28: Former MLA Udhampur, Pawan Gupta met Union Defence Minister Rajnath Singh and MoS PMO, Dr Jitendra Singh and raised issues of his area.
In a press conference Gupta said that he asked the Defence Minister to provide 50 per cent reservation in Army and MES to local youth especially whose land has been acquired by Army.
He further said that permanent absorption of ousted daily wagers and porters of animal transport company of the Army were among other demands he raised.
Gupta told reporters that he also demanded sanction and approval for 4-laning of Flata-Udhampur (Jakhani) road which shall save time and money of commuters.
Gupta informed that for the conversion of District Hospital Udhampur into Medical College under centre sponsored programme, a memorandum to Union Health Minister, Dr. Harshvardhan was send through Dr. Jitendra Singh.
Gupta informed that Union Defence Minister Rajnath Singh assured to solve the burning issues raised by him.
