UDHAMPUR, Nov 11: Independent candidate from Udhampur Assembly constituency, Pawan Gupta today addressed a public rally in Tikri and appealed the people to vote his candidature to represent J&K Assembly.
He alleged that MLA Balwant Singh Mankotia was unable to serve the people in his two tenures as Member Assembly. Udhampur has a big tourism potential but so far ignored by the Kashmir centric politics of J&K State, he said and assured the people that if he is given chance to represent people in Assembly, bringing Udhampur under the map of tourism would be his top most priority.
“Tourism will not only encourage economic activities in the Udhampur but also provide employment to a large number of local youth of this constituency,” Mr Gupta explained. He further expressed that Tikri, Devika Sathan Udhampur, Shiv caves Moungri, Sankri Devta place, Lander area, Gangera hills, Jug Dhar, Dhar Gaddian, Sharda Mata, Kud, Patnitop, Sudh Mahadev, Latti, Dudu Basant Garh areas of Udhampur district are required to be developed as religious tourist places with strong road connectivity.
Pawan Gupta assured the people that he would strive hard to restore the image and dignity of Dugger heritage.
