UDHAMPUR, May 10: Former Minister and MLA Udhampur Pawan Gupta today asked BJP to clear its stand on establishment of Sainik Colony in Kashmir valley.
In a statement issued here, today Mr Gupta questioned why the Sainik Colony can’t be established around the Capital City of Srinagar for the soldiers who serve the Army in the State for years together or for their families who laid down their lives in protecting the people of the State.
Extending his full support to establishment of Sainik Colony in Srinagar Gupta said establishment of such a colony exclusively for the army personnel in Valley is need of the hour.
He also criticized the BJP for not maintaining its authority as coalition partner and surrendering to the dictates of its alliance partner PDP while referring to suspension of three deputy advocate generals among whom one was the son of a BJP leader.
Commenting on the Supreme Court decision on NEET, Mr Gupta said that 59 year struggle of the people of Jammu has brought fruit with this decision. The deserving students of the State will now get justice and there will be no partiality in the tests of MBBS and BDS. The State has been given quota and the candidates of J&K will have to compete within State but at the same time there will be transparency in conducting the tests, he added.
