JAMMU, Oct 21: A Patwari of Halqa Bajarni in Doda was caught red handed by the Vigilance sleuths while accepting bribe.
The accused Patwari, Zakir Hussain has been arrested by VOJ and a case has been registered in this connection under section 5(1) (d) R/W 5(2) J&K P.C Act 2006 BK and Section 161 RPC.
The Vigilance trap was laid on the basis of a written complaint by one Gul Mohd Bhat of Kotal Bajarni, tehsil Bhagwa, district Doda alleging therein that Patwari of Patwar Halqa Bajarni was demanding Rs 50,000 as illegal gratification from him for processing his case of compensation of land, which is coming under the alignment of link road Bajarni-Lal Draman.
The accused was nabbed red handed by the trap team of Vigilance Organization, Jammu while accepting bribe amount of Rs 30,000 as first installment in presence of independent witnesses.
