JAMMU, Oct 19: Patwari of Halqa Bajarani, Bhagwa in Doda, was caught red handed by the Vigilance sleuths while accepting bribe.
The accused, namely Zakir Hussain, was trapped by the Vigilance Organization following a written complaint by one Gul Mohd Bhat of Kotal Bajarni alleging that the said Patwari was demanding Rs 50,000 as illegal gratification from him for processing his case of compensation of land, which was coming under the alignment of link road Bajarni-Lal Draman.
The accused was nabbed red handed by the trap team of Vigilance Organization, Jammu while accepting bribe amount of Rs 30,000 as first installment in presence of independent witnesses.
The accused Patwari has been arrested by VOJ and further investigation of the case is in progress.
