JAMMU, Apr 26: All Jammu and Kashmir Patwar Association today staged protest dharna in front of the office of Deputy Commissioner Jammu against the manhandling of Patwari Halqa Salehar Rakesh Kumar by MLA RS Pura Gagan Bhagat and his associates.
Amid slogans, the protesters demanded registration of FIR against MLA and his associates.
The protesters stated that on Monday protest demonstration was held at SDM South Office and before this on Saturday the protest was held at Tehsil Headquarters Bishnah.
Although Tehsildar Bishnah on Saturday directed SHO Arnia for lodging FIR against culprits but till now no action has taken so far, they added.
They stated that keeping in view the negligence of concerned authority Patwar Association has taken stern action and decided to go for a province level strike from tomorrow if FIR is not registered till today evening. The protest will be held at all District Headquarters of province Jammu, they added.
They asked District Presidents to make the protest successful and if by tomorrow evening, the authorities failed to take this issue seriously then, a divisional level protest at Division Office Jammu will be held in which all the basic members of Patwar Association of Jammu Province will participate.
The Association has decided to go for an indefinite State level strike if the action is not taken in this regard and for inconvenience to the general public in general and specially for conducting of Girdwari and NFSA programme, the administration will be responsible.
