LEH, July 25: BJP national spokesman, Sambit Patra today appealed people to make the Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav a grand success and celebrate it like a festival by unfurling national flags atop every house and every building across Ladakh region.
Patra who is on the tour of Ladakh region was addressing a press conference here, today. He said Narendra Modi Government has decided to celebrate the 75th year of Independence as Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav and termed the August 15 of 2022 a historic event as on this day the nation completes 75 years of Independence.
Maintaining that it is a special occasion, Sambit Patra said the nation should celebrate it in a befitting way by unfurling Tri-Colour on every house hold across the country. He said the National Flags will be hoisted by people over 30 crore houses across the country.
He said a campaign will be launched across the country from August 9 to 11 by holding press conferences, meetings and other programmes asking people to celebrate the occasion in a befitting way. He said hoardings, banners and posters will be pasted at different places and Prabhat Pharis form August 11 to 13 will be taken out to launch a nationwide campaign in this regard.
Sambit Patra said let us celebrate together the occasion to convey message of peace, co existence, unity and brotherhood. The songs of patriotism and Vande Matram will be sung everywhere by the people. He said youth organisations, Government departments, religious organizations will be roped in organising the functions across the country and spread the message of nationalism.
He said idea of Government is to hoist the Tiranga on every housetop across the country. He said such occasions are celebrated by every Government all over the world as these are historic events.
In response to a question that after converting Ladakh into UT the promises made by the people have not been fulfilled, Sambit Patra said that Modi Government is taking care of every section of the society and every region. He said special priority has been given by PM to Ladakh, J&K and North Eastern states for development and upliftment of people living there. “Our Government is taking care of every section of the society and region and Modi has a special place for Ladakh”, he said.
Allaying the fears of the people of Ladakh, he said Centre is always with Ladakh and Modi Government wants to bring all those areas which have remained under developed over the years with the other developed parts of the country.
