JAMMU: To counter terror strike, Indian Air Force for the first time used MI-35 ‘attack planes’ to search terrorists who attacked the Air Base in Pathankot tehsil of Punjab.
“Generally the choppers were previously used for surveillance or search but this is for the first time IAF used MI-35 ‘attack planes’ to conduct recce and counter the terrorists, who were in Army fatigue,” official sources here said.
They said that ‘attack planes’ were pressed into service at the encounter site and launching searches. “So far five militants are reportedly killed while the operation is still in progress,” they added. (AGENCIES)
