JAMMU, Jan 6: While chairing first meeting of district/tehsil/block level officers of various line departments and agencies of Udhampur district, R S Pathania, MLA Ramnagar, has emphasized for greater public and public servant liaison for accelerating developmental pace in Ramnagar.
After a detailed discussion on working of various departments, Mr Pathania directed various departments to complete road-projects, buildings, public utilities, laying of electricity and drinking water lines within the stipulated time-period and issuing notice to defaulting contractors for sticking to time-limits and make these developmental schemes and projects functional within the shortest possible time.
He also directed the senior officers to remove all procedural handicaps and hiccups so that hassle-free completion of these projects is expedited within shortest possible span of time.
Mr Pathania also directed Rural Development Department to immediately approve and finalize various works under MGNREGA so that these works are taken up on priority.
He directed officers of Ramnagar Municipality to immediately repair all defunct street lights in Ramnagar, clogged public toilets and littered drains and install dust-bins in Ramnagar town, besides issuing instructions to Agriculture, Horticulture and Floriculture Departments to initiate awareness programmes and publicity campaigns to propagate various schemes and initiatives of the departments so that field – wise progress in various sectors is achieved and economic condition of the farmers’ community is also achieved side-by-side.
The directions were also passed on to revenue officers, PHE and PDD authorities for smooth functioning of the systems.
The meeting was attended by district-level officers of PWD (R & B), RDD, PMGSY, PHE, Education Deptt., Soil Conservation Wing, Forests Deptt., Agriculture Deptt., Horticulture Deptt., Sericulture Deptt., Floriculture Deptt., Sheep Husbandry Deptt, Animal Husbandry Deptt., Social Welfare Deptt., Employment, Health Deptt, NYK and Sports Department.
