RAMNAGAR, Jan 20: R S Pathania, former MLA and Spokesperson J&K BJP, conducted an extensive tour of far-flung areas of Ramnagar and addressed mammoth public meetings at Thelay, Chigla Balota, Seuna, Sunetar, Ara, Tellani , Kirmoo and Bassi.
Addressing public gatherings at these locations, Pathania called for harnessing irrigation/ drinking water potential of Ujh and Tawi rivers originating from Kailash Kund, forming eastern ridge of Ramnagar tehsil. He said that Modi Govt’s challenge of “Mile Har Khet ko Paani” and “Clean drinking water for All” can be fulfilled only if the potential of Tawi and Ujh rivers is tapped.
He said that water shall be lifted from Ujh to Sawna Banj and from thereon distributed for fulfilling the drinking water and irrigation needs of the area.
Pathania informed that multi utility projects for tapping potential of these twin rivers can mitigate 90 percent of the drinking water and irrigation problems of the Ramnagar constituency and projects for the same stands submitted for allotment of funds. He has informed about a DDB decision for setting up of multipurpose project in Ujh. He said that very soon these projects will see the light of the day and public will be able to reap the benefits thereof.
“It is for the first time in the history that Water Supply Schemes worth Rs 60 crore have been got sanctioned and are being executed on war footing in Ramnagar constituency, which include WSS Ramnagar, WSS Puji Mata, WSS Prey Badhal, WSS Chigla Balota, WSS Chatriari, WSS Deot Bilaspur, WSS Nakki, WSS SK Ber, WSS Baryalta Shatredi, WSS Kirmoo, WSS Jandriari, WSS Thaplal,” he said and informed that work was started on Filtration plant at Sundla and Ramnagar.
Terming the various public friendly measures launched by Narendra Bhai Modi led Govt, like Ayushmaan Bharat and Ujjwalla Yojana, Pathania asked the public to enroll themselves to claim benefits of the world’s largest health insurance scheme, the premium for which will be paid by Government. He said that many other public welfare schemes are being launched for the Aam Aadmi by the Bhartiya Janata Party led Central Govt.
