Pathak takes stock of developmental activities

JAMMU, Aug 1: Commissioner/Secretary to Govt. Housing and Urban Development Department, Bipul Pathak held a meeting in the Office Chamber of Commissioner, Jammu Municipal Corporation, Town Hall Complex, here today.
The meeting was attended by Director Local Bodies, Kuldeep Khajuria, VC, JDA, Mubarak Singh and Chief Engineer, PHE and others.
A thread bare discussion was made regarding the topic “Smart City” and to take further necessary guidelines in this context. Commissioner/Secretary visited the various sites like Parade and Narwal to review the prospectus of developing various parking facilities in these areas which would help the general public to mitigate their problems in respect of parking their vehicles and will also decongest the city.
He also visited Sunjwan where dwelling units under BSUP Scheme are being constructed and construction on some of the units have been completed.
Mr Pathak was satisfied with the progress of work made by JMC and directed the Commissioner, JMC to take every possible step in making the project purposeful.
The Commissioner, JMC appealed the general public not to throw garbage/building material in nallahs as the same was the cause of choking of nallahs, adding that it was their duty to clean the surroundings.
