JAMMU, June 9: Nagrota police under Operation Sanjeevani arrested a passenger along with heroin.
As per police sources, based on reliable information, a team from Nagrota police station raised a naka and intercepted a Tempo Traveller coming from Srinagar side to Jammu.
During checking, police recovered 190 grams heroin from the possession of a passenger and arrested him.
The accused has been identified as Abdul Rashid, son of Ghulam Mohammad, a resident of Sopore, District Baramulla.
A case under FIR Number 134/17 under Section 8/21 Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act has been registered at Nagrota police station and investigation started to ascertain the source of the consignment.
Police team led by SHO Nagrota Inspector Bhushan Manhas made the arrest under the supervision of SDPO Nagrota Dr Amit Sharma and SP Rural Arun Gupta.
