JAMMU, Oct 24: Prominent businessman Parveen Sen Anand, son of Kanwar Sen Anand and nephew of Retired Chief Justice of India Adarsh Sen Anand, passed away here this morning due to bursting of ulcer.
He was 47 and is survived by his wife and two daughters, aged 10 and eight years.
The end came at Government Medical College (GMC), Jammu at 9.30 am today.
Parveen Sen Anand was a close associate of National Conference and Union Minister for New and Renewable Energy, Dr Farooq Abdullah.
Dr Abdullah, his wife, Moily Abdullah, daughter Safia and her husband, Asim Khan and Chief Minister Omar Abdullah flew here from Srinagar and attended cremation of Parveen Anand at Shastri Nagar cremation ground this afternoon.
Prominent political personalities including Political Advisor to Chief Minister Devender Rana, Minister of State for Home Nasir Aslam Wani, NC provincial president, Rattan Lal Gupta, retired Justices including RC Gandhi, OP Sharma, GD Sharma and various prominent personalities including politicians and businessmen were present at last rites of Parveen Anand.
Abdullah returned to Srinagar late in the afternoon after attending cremation of Parveen Anand.
Former Chief Justice of India Adarsh Sen Anand flew in here from New Delhi to join last rites of his nephew.
