SRINAGAR, May 1: Senior vice president Apni Party (AP), Ghulam Hassan Mir on Wednesday said that his party does not believe in the politics of confrontation but believes in the politics of cooperation and conciliation for the larger interests of the people.
Talking to reporters on the sidelines of a party event in Khag area of Budgam today, Mir said that after August 5, 2019, it was only AP to convince the leadership in Delhi to issue statement from PMO assuring that only the people of J&K would have rights on jobs and agricultural lands in the region.
Taking a dig at the traditional parties Mir said that traditional parties, especially those belonging to political families have always prioritized their own interests, instead of the interests of people.
He claimed: “NC was at the helm of affairs in J&K for most of the past 75 years, while the Congress party remained in at Centre and during the same period NC allowed the gradual erosion of Article 370 by the Congress.”
Mir appealed to people to reject these traditional and family parties by the power of vote in Parliamentary elections.
AP leader, Muntazir Mohiuddin; vice president Kashmir Province, Muzaffar Rizvi; District president Kupwara, Raja Manzoor; senior leaders-Dawood Lodhi, Waseem Dar and others were also present on the occasion.
