REASI, Nov 1: Parliamentary Committee on Energy, headed by Dr. Hari Babu Kambhampati, Chairperson, accompanied by eight MPs today visited Salal Power Station for on the spot study on energy.
The Committee comprised of M. Chandrakashi, Dr. Arun Kumar, Ravindra Kumar Pandey, M.B Rajesh, Devendra Singh Bhole, T.K.S Elangovan, Shamsher Singh Manhas and S. Muthukaruppan as its members. Anirudha Kumar, Joint Secretary (Power), GoI and Balraj Joshi, Chairman & Managing Director, NHPC, N.K Jain, Director Personnel, Janardhan Choudhary, Director (Technical) and Chander Mohan, Executive Director, Regional Office Jammu also visited Salal Power Station.
The visiting dignitaries were welcomed by Himanshu Shekhar, General Manager, Salal Power Station and other senior officers from NHPC and Civil Administration, District Reasi.
The dignitaries accompanied by Shekhar General Manager, Salal visited various components of the Power Station viz., dam and power house.
At power house, the visiting dignitaries were apprised with construction, operation and maintenance activities being taken up by NHPC across the country through power point presentation.
The parliamentary committee expressed satisfaction over the running and maintenance of Salal Power Station.
