Parkash Parab of Guru Hargobind Singh celebrated with religious fervour, gaiety

JAMMU, July 5: The Parkash Parab of sixth Sikh Guru, Guru Hargobind Singh Ji Maharaj was celebrated with full religious fervour and gaiety today.
In this connection a grand function was held at Gurudwara Tali Sahib, Talab Tillo where thousands of Sikh devotees thronged from early in the morning to participate in Shabad Kirtan.
On the occasion Ragi Jathas led by Karaj Singh from Darbar Sahib, Amritsar, Sucha Singh Pracharak from Patiala Punjab and local Ragi Jathas led by Ragi Parvinder Singh, Randhir Singh and Surinder Paul Singh recited Gurbani and Shabad Kirtan.
They also highlighted the life and teachings of Guru Ji Maharaj. Guru Hargobind Singh Ji is the only Sikh Guru who visited the J&K State and whose Gurudwara existed at Srinagar.
The function was organized by District Gurudwara Prabandhak Committee led by S Dalip Singh. In protest against the callousness of the Government the Committee did not submit a memorandum to Government on the occasion today as has been a past practice.
This was done in protest against the callousness of the Government towards the Sikh community said S Manjit Singh secretary of the Committee. He said the Government has totally ignored the Sikhs in the State and no representation was given to the community in the Council of Ministers.
On the occasion Guru Ka Langer was served to devotees. The Sikh leaders also greeted the community on the occasion.
Another Kirtan Darbar was organized by Prabandhak Committee Gurudwara Sri Baba Chanda Singh Ji Jain Bazaar Jammu on the occasion of Parkash Parab of Sri Guru Hargobind Sahib Ji Maharaj.
The Sangat from surrounding areas of the city reached Gurudawara Sahib to take part in Kirtan Darbar. The langer was also distributed among the Sangat on the occasion.
Bhai Sahib Bhai Kulvinder Singh Ji and Jatha and Bhai Sahib Sukhdev Singh, Bhai Sahib Parveen Singh Ji, Dr Tijender Singh Ji and Bibi Nirmal Kour recited the Kirtan Panj Payare, Panj Pir, Chatam Pir Bhata Guru Pahre and highlighted the biography of Chatipatshai Sri Guru Hargobind Sahib Ji Maharaj. The prominent citizens and politicians also greeted the Sangat.
Sukhbir Singh president of the Committee demanded that minority status be granted to the Sikh community and the land be allotted for the reconstruction of Gurudwara Chand Kamal Asthan Guru Nanak Ser Manjila immediately and culprits who have removed the holy Nishan Sahib be immediately arrested.
The Sangat also expressed resentment on the dilly dallying tactics of DC Udhampur.
He further said that the demands of the refugees of 1947 of all categories be immediately redressed and Punjabi teachers be immediately appointed in the schools and colleges. The Sangat demanded immediate holding of elections to the Gurudwara Parbandhak Committee in fair manner is that the elected body should work as per the Rahat Maryada.
All the office bearers of the Nirvair Social organization including Surinder Singh Shinda, Amarjeet Singh, Jatinder Singh, Gurmeet Singh, Jagbir Singh, Jagjeet Singh and others were present.
