Panthers leader misleading people of Jammu: BJP

Excelsior Correspondent

JAMMU, Mar 29: Terming the allegations of Panthers Party Chairman Harshdev Singh as baseless, false and misleading, State BJP has rebuffed the accusations so made by him and asserted that the party has honoured the mandate of Jammu while forming Government in the State.
Substantiating the Party’s point, State spokesperson Balbir Ram Rattan said that in fact it has been BJP, which always stood for the cause, honour and dignity of Jammu during all the years, when the State was ruled by Congress, NC or JKNPP as coalition partner. He further asserted that during its 10 month governance, despite being a short period to judge and assess any Government, it is for JKNPP and all other opposition leaders to see for themselves that ending corruption and getting equal share for Jammu in all matters and at all levels remained on top agenda of BJP as alliance partner in the Government.
Wondering at the allegations levelled by Harshdev, Balbir further stated  that Jammu province has total of 37 Assembly seats and BJP won 25 seats, wasn’t it almost a clean sweep and clear mandate in favour of BJP, he questioned adding that it is no secret that political parties like Congress and JKNPP failed and faltered badly during their tenure in the Government to fight for rights of the people of Jammu.
Balbir Ram Rattan further stated it looks ridiculous to note that when Panthers party wins 4 seats, it enters into Government but BJP with 25 seats entering coalition is termed as opportunism. This reflects frustration and cheap politics indulged by parties like JKNPP, he added.
