UDHAMPUR, Nov 6: Flaying the Coalition Government for its six-year misrule in the State of J&K, Harshdev Singh, Panthers Party chairman and MLA Ramnagar today said that NPP alone could salvage Jammu Pradesh and ensure restoration of its lost glory and pride.
“Though the resentment has brewed against the present Government in all three regions of the State, Jammu region in particular has suffered immensely during the last six year coalition rule in all spheres,” he said while addressing a largely attended public rally at Balpur, Majalta on Thursday.
Claiming that NPP alone could ensure restoration of its lost glory and pride, Harshdev urged upon the general masses to vote and support the National Panthers Party for ending the policies of bias and prejudice in various fields being pursued against the Dogra land by successive State Government.
The NPP president strongly flayed the BJP for creating a communal divide during the last Parliamentary elections with the sole objective of promoting their political prospects. He said that BJP led Government at the Centre had utterly failed to respond to the concerns of Jammu region despite its loud pronouncements and was pursuing the policy of Kashmir’s appeasement. PM’s visit to Kashmir to celebrate Diwali there followed by announcement of a financial package for the said region spoke volumes about the prejudiced mind set of BJP led Government and its total disregard for Jammu, he said.
Harshdev Singh re-iterated the resolve of the party to strive for equitable treatment to all regions of the State with removal of all regional imbalances, ensuring due share to Jammu and Ladakh regions. He said that Jammu Pradesh needed to be compensated in terms of development projects, funds allocation, employment, road connectivity, tourism, health and power sector.
Regarding the constituency-specific issues, Harshdev Singh said that Ramnagar Majalta had been developed as a model constituency and had become an example for others to emulate.
Others who spoke on the occasion included, MLA Yash Paul Kundal, Dhani Ram Attri, Sukhdev Singh, Basharat Ali, Rajesh Padgotra and Pushvinder Singh.
