JAMMU, May 11: The Jammu and Kashmir Government has reconstituted a high-level committee to monitor the functioning of Departmental Promotion Committees (DPCs) across all Government departments in the Union Territory.

As per an order, the reconstituted panel would be headed by Anil Kumar Singh, Financial Commissioner (Additional Chief Secretary), PW (R&B) Department, with M Raju, Commissioner Secretary to the Government, General Administration Department, Shabnam Kamili, Commissioner Secretary to the Government, ARTI & Trainings Department, and Achal Sethi, Commissioner Secretary to the Government, Department of Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs, as Members.
The mandate of the committee is to monitor the timely conduct of meetings of Departmental Promotion Committee(s) across all Administrative Departments and their sub-ordinate offices, address issues of stagnation and chalk out roadmaps for career progression of members of various services and to address the issue of timely filling of promotional vacancies, so as to obviate the need of ad-hoc promotions and assignments of additional charges.
The committee shall be serviced by the concerned Department(s) whose agenda is under review in the meetings, which shall also record decisions taken therein for further action and submission of consequential action taken reports to the General Administration Department for appraisal of authorities, the order said.
