JAMMU, Dec 14: The Government has accorded sanction to the constitution of a committee for monitoring over all progress in the identification, protection and restoration of water bodies in the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir.
An official spokesman said that Administrative Secretary, Forest, Ecology and Enviornment Department will be the Chairperson of the Committee, while Special Secretary, Forest Ecology and Environment will be the Member Secretary of the Committee.
The other six members of the committee will be, representatives from the Housing and Urban Development Department, Jal Shakti Department, Revenue Department, Rural Development Department (Not below the rank of Addl Secy), Member Secretary- Pollution Control Board and Director Soil and Water Conservation Department.
