Pandits rue lack of basic facilities at Vessu camp

Srinagar, Mar 6: Pandits residing at Vessu migrant camp today staged a protest against lack of basic facilities here along Srinagar-Jammu National Highway in South Kashmir’s Kulgam district.
The protesting Pandits, who work as employees in different parts of Valley, assembled at Highway and castigated authorities for not providing them with basic facilities like water and electricity. The employees said despite approaching concerned officials, none of them is responding positively to resolve their issues.
“We contact top officials but they are giving cold shoulder to our pleas. On the one hand, Government talks of resettling migrant Pandits back in Valley and on the other this is the situation of already present migrants here. This is joke on part of State and Central governments,” the Pandits said and sought immediate redressel of their issues.
