Pandits primary stakeholders of Kashmir: KPJA

JAMMU, May 6: Kashmiri Pandit community has an inalienable right on the territory of Kashmir and as the indigenous people of the Kashmir valley, the Kashmiri Pandits are the first and primary stakeholders to the territory of Kashmir and there cannot be any compromise on this issue.
This was stated by leaders of KP Joint Forum (KPJF) in an interactive programme organized by the Forum at KECSS Hall, Pamposh Colony, New Delhi for the prominent activists of the Kashmiri Pandit community living in Delhi NCR.
The meeting was organized and chaired by Utpal Kaul, senior leader of KP Joint Action, based in Delhi. Specially present on the occasion were Ashwani Kumar Chrungoo, Chairman, KP Joint Action and president, Panun Kashmir and Upinder Kaul, general secretary, Panun Kashmir.
Utpal Kaul in his inaugural address gave a brief about the KP Joint Action and the Comprehensive Political Agenda (CPA) evolved by it. He laid emphasis on the spread of awareness regarding the salient features of the CPA which includes the geo-political aspirations of the community, economic survival issues including employment package and the compensation agenda for the age-old youth and the civilization concern enshrined in the passage of the Shrines and Temples Bill of Kashmir.
Ashwani Kumar Chrungoo in his concluding address said, “Pandits are in a continuous struggle for the last almost three decades now. With the change of the Governments we expect the change of the system but the demands put by the community for the last a number of decades cannot change with the change of the Governments. These demands have been put in a comprehensive manner in the CPA by the KP Joint Action.”
He said that Kashmiri Pandit community has an inalienable right on the territory of Kashmir and as the indigenous people of the Kashmir valley, the Kashmiri Pandits are the first and primary stakeholders to the territory of Kashmir and there cannot be any compromise on this issue. “We will pursue our mission with consistency, dedication and commitment”, he added.
