JAMMU, May 1: Independent candidate from Anantnag -Rajouri Parliamentary constituency, Dilip Pandita has termed the decision of Election Commission of India (ECI) regarding postponing of Lok Sabha elections in the constituency a timely decision saying this way the contesting candidates have been relieved of a great worry.
Addressing a meeting of his supporters here, today, he said due to inclement weather and heavy snowfall on Mughal road and higher reaches of the constituency besides blockade of National Highway for last four days it was very difficult for the contesting candidates to hold poll campaign in the hill areas of this constituency when it takes about three days to travel form one district to another due to its terrains.
Pandita said the ECI has taken a right decision after conceding the representation of various political parties and some independent candidates and asked all parties not to make any controversy over the decision but endorse the same.
