DODA, May 1: In a coordinated operation here today by JKPCC Doda and Municipal Council Doda, a significant amount of banned polythene weighing over 12 quintals was seized from shops, fields and residential houses.
The operation witnessed the presence of a Magistrate and was conducted under the supervision of Deputy Commissioner Doda, Harvinder Singh while the raiding team comprised of Divisional Officer, Gurpreet Singh from JKPCC Doda; Naib Tehsildar, Vidya Sagar and Executive Officer, Amit Sharma from MC Doda, along with officials from Municipality, PCC and cops.
The confiscated polythene was unlawfully stored and concealed, prompting the authorities to take decisive action.
As a result of the operation, a total fine of Rs. 30,000 was imposed on the violators.
