KATHUA, Mar 14: On the call of State level Joint Committee of All J&K Panchayat Secretaries Joint Action Committee, the Panchayat secretaries of Kathua district observed pen down strike today.
The Panchayat secretaries led by All J&K Panchayat Secretary Joint Action Committee assembled at Shaheed Park Kathua and held protest demonstration against the Government and in support of their demands.
They were raising slogans in support of their genuine demands. They alleged that all the Panchayat secretaries were working under pressure, facing misbehavior in the field and harassment while working in the field in their respective Panchayats under very minimum wages against higher load of work.
They were also demanding enhancement in pay as per rules in other Union Territories. They criticized the Government for imposing unwanted rules and regulation for Panchyat secretaries.
