JAMMU: Pakistani troops engaged in heavy firing and mortar shelling on forward areas in two sectors along the Line of Control (LoC) in Poonch district on Monday in violation of a ceasefire agreement, officials said.
Indian Army personnel retaliated to the Pakistani fire befittingly, they said.
“At about 1940 hours today, Pakistan Army initiated unprovoked ceasefire violation by firing with small arms along LoC in Mankote and Mendhar sectors in district Poonch,” a defence spokesman said. (AGENCIES)
