Pakistan using cross border terror as state policy: Naidu

NEW DELHI, Oct 16:    Stating that Pakistan was encouraging cross border terrorism against neighbors as a state policy,Vice-President M Venkaiah Naidu on Monday urged the world community  to isolate states that sponsored terrorism.

”Our neighbor has made a state policy to aid, fund and train terrorists,” Mr Naidu said in his address at the  33rd raising day of the National Security Guard at the Manesar Garrison in morning.

Mr Naidu said it was high time that the international community put up a joint front against the menace. He stressed on the fact that terrorism knows no religion or boundaries and nobody should be allowed to get away with acts of violence in the name of ideology.

The Vice-President emphasised on the importance of  information and its confirmation over other aspects such as arms and ammunition in anti-terror related operations, as intelligence forms the basis of how the counter action has to be executed.  Replying to a question, he said,”Transparency and accountability along with information and confirmation are more important than ammunition,” while he talked about the capacity building of the state police forces.

Mr Naidu lauded the NSG by saying that over the last 33 years, the anti-terror force have successfully handled terrorist & hijack situations and has played  a defining role in Akshardham, Mumbai and Pathankot attacks. He said the NSG is now also training the state police forces as it will play a vital role in the strengthening and their overall capacity building.

The Vice-President said,”The capacity building of the state police forces is the need of the hour and the NSG is now training the state police forces”.

He also released the postal cover of the NSG on its 3rd raising day and conveyed the greetings on the behalf of the nation saying that the entire nation was proud of them. (AGENCIES)
