Pak again violates ceasefire on IB, targets seven Indian posts

JAMMU, Oct 23: After a brief lull of three days, Pakistan has again resorted to firing from across the international border (IB) for a brief period in Ramgarh and Arnia sectors today, by  targeting at least seven posts during Diwali festivity, but there were no casualties or damage on the Indian side. Meanwhile the  Indian side maintained restrained.

Official sources said the Pakistan Rangers who opened small arms firing at forward village of Narayanpur in Ramgarh sector and Stop-2 in Arnia sector last night, today again resorted to
unprovoked firing in Arnia and Ramgarh sub-sectors of Jammu
region.
“Apart from two provocations during night in Arnia sector, Pakistan Rangers also resorted to unprovoked firing in area of BSF in Samba and Hiranagar sector, official sources said, adding
“Pak rangers also fired in forward area being manned by BSF in Basanter of Samba sector”.
Official sources added, the firing was reported between 0730 hours to 0900 hours. “Thereafter Pakistan Rangers again resumed unprovoked firing and targeted Indian forward Posts in Ramgarh Sector at about 0930 hrs, however, BSF troops didn’t retaliate to
Pakistan firing.”
“Pakistan is provoking BSF troops manning International Border (IB), repeatedly with a sole objective of spoiling the Diwali celebrations of border populace,” they said.
For the past few days Pakistan Rangers have been resorting to unprovoked firing just to escalate the situation along international border (IB).
Meanwhile, in view of latest ceasefire violations and apprehensions that Pakistani Rangers could resort to any mischief on the occasion of festival, the people continued to stay in the
relief camps.
The fresh ceasefire violation on Wednesday and Thursday from the Pakistan Rangers comes 72 hours after the last instance of firing from across the border on the night of October 19 in
Pargwal sector of Akhnoor.
Pakistani troops had also violated the ceasefire on October 17 and 18 by resorting to firing on BoPs in Makwal and Allah-Mai-De Kothey (AMK) area of Jammu.
