SRINAGAR: A woman was injured when Pakistan violated ceasefire and resorted to unprovoked shelling along the Line of Control (LoC) at Uri in Baramulla district.
Official sources said that Pakistani Rangers resorted to heavy shelling targeting forward posts and border villages along the LoC in Uri sector this morning.
They said one woman, identified as Shakeela Begum, was injured in the shelling. She was immediately taken to a local hospital from where she was referred to a hospital in Srinagar.
Indian troops also retaliated and the exchange of fire between India and Pakistan continued for some time.
