‘We have established terror camps existed in Pakistan’
*Polls not important for me, country is

JAMMU, Mar 31: Prime Minister Narendra Modi said today that Indian air strike at Balakote has established that there were terror training camps in Pakistan, a charge the neighbouring country had often denied, and it was now engaged in re-construction work there by not allowing media visits to show that only a school existed there.
Addressing `Main Bhi Chowkidar’ event by linking up with BJP leaders and workers in different States of the country, which was telecast live, Modi dropped enough hint and issued veiled warning to Pakistan that they shouldn’t think that Modi is busy with election campaigning in the country.
“They (the Pakistan) has opened there airspace after one month. They think the Prime Minister is busy in the elections. Polls are not priority for me. Nation is my priority,” he declared.
Asserting that Pakistan is in dilemma over Balakote, Modi said if they accept that something has happened in Balakote they will have to admit that terrorist camp existed there but they have been telling the world that there was nothing (like the terror camp).
“We have reports that Pakistan was engaged in re-construction work in Balakote during past over one month to hide the fact. The people and media teams were not being allowed to visit there. They will try to show to the world that a school existed there and not the terror camp,” he said.
Pointing out that militant activities were going on in India for past many years, the Prime Minister, referring to Balakote strike, said: “everybody knew who was committing sins? Where the remote control (of terrorism) lied? Where were the mentors (of terrorists) sitting? They (the militants) used to come, kill (the people) and left. They came in Mumbai too. But how long this was going to be tolerated? So I decided that the game should be played there from where the terrorism was originating (in Pakistan)”.
However, Modi said, India’s Balakote strike has established that terror camps existed in Pakistan.
“The question is not that how many militants were killed. But we have probed that terror camp was being run from there (Balakote),” he said but regretted that unfortunately some of our own (a reference towards few Opposition leaders) were helping Pakistan with their statements.
Modi said he has full faith in courage and discipline of security forces and that’s why he decided to give them free hand.
“I took the decision of giving free hand to Army because I have full faith on them. I have full faith in their discipline. They won’t do anything that will let down the nation. I have faith on their courage and discipline,” he added.
Lauding security forces, Modi said the air strikes were carried out by our jawans and not by him.
“We salute them (the soldiers),” he said.
India had carried out air strikes at Jaish-e-Mohammed terror camp at Balakote in Khyber Pakhtunkhawa province of Pakistan on February 26, killing number of Jaish militants including top commanders. The air strike was carried out just 12 days after Jaish terror attack in Pulwama in South Kashmir in which 44 CRPF personnel were martyred.
On Political front, Modi hit out at the Opposition parties, attempting to present a united front against the BJP-led ruling coalition, pointing out to Prime Ministerial ambition of rival leaders.
He said: “When I was made a Prime Ministerial candidate, there was a queue for the Prime Minister’s post in 2014. Many wanted to become Prime Minister. The queue has got a bit longer now in 2019.”
The Prime Minister was referring to differing voices in the Opposition camp over who could be the Prime Minister if the BJP-led ruling coalition is defeated in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections in April-May.
