Pak again fires mortars, bursts

JAMMU, Jan 11: After a lull of nearly four days, Pakistani Rangers tonight again violated ceasefire and fired couple of mortar shells and bursts at Karol Krishna and Londi areas along the International Border in Hiranagar sector but there were no casualties or damage.
Official reports said the Rangers lobbed mortar shells and fired bursts from automatic weapons at Karol Krishna and Londi in Hiranagar sector at 9.50 pm tonight targeting forward BSF posts. The BSF jawans retaliated. The exchanges lasted few minutes. The guns fall silence within half an hour, the reports said.
During past four days, there had been no shelling or firing along the International Border.
A large number of border people continued to stay in relief camps in Hiranagar and Samba sectors after deserting their houses due to continued shelling and firing from the Pakistan side.
