Pak-based terrorists trying to strike ahead of Obama’s visit

NEW DELHI, Jan 2:
Pakistan-based terrorist groups are continuously trying to infiltrate into Jammu and Kashmir by taking advantage of cross-border firing as they aim to carry out “spectacular attacks” ahead of US President Barack Obama’s visit to India, according to security agencies.
Quoting intelligence reports, senior Home Ministry officials said the terrorists were waiting for opportunity in eight locations along the International Border and Line of Control to sneak into India to indulge in terrorist acts.
“As per our information, the militants have the blessings of the highest authorities of Pakistan Army,” an official said.
The largest group comprises about 40-45 terrorists who are waiting at the launching pads just across the Samba sector in Jammu and Kashmir. There has been heavy exchange of firing between the BSF and Pakistan Rangers in this sector.
“The Pakistan-based groups are planning to carry out spectacular attacks ahead of Obama’s visit to India to attend the Republic day parade,” the official said. (AGENCIES)
