Painting competition on topic drug abuse held

KATHUA, Feb 11: Painting competition on the topic ‘drug abuse’ was held under Civic Action Programme 2014-15 in district Police lines, Kathua, today.
The children from various Government and private schools participated, Neeva Jain, IPS, Superintendent of Police, Kathua inaugurated the competition who dwelt in length about the menace of ‘drug abuse’ and advised the young generation to avoid such unhealthy practices.
78 students participated in the competition which were divided into two groups i.e. Junior group and Senior group. Samriti Sharma, student of R S Jagrati Niketn stood first, Mahant Sharma, student of R S Jagriti Niketan, Kathua stood second, Lalita Devi, student of Rainbow School, Kathua stood fourth in Junior group.
Similarly , Rahul Sharma, student of Government Degree College, Kathua stood first, Manshi Chouhan, student Delhi Public School, Rajbagh stood second, Manu Verma, student of Spring Dales stood third and Varun Sharma, student of Government   Degree College, Kathua stood fourth in Senior group in the competition and were awarded with trophies and certificates.
Satish Sharma, CPO, DPO, Kathua, Rakesh Sambyal, senior PO and Tilik Sumbria( retd teacher) acted as Judges.
Nasir Anhed, Addl. SP Kathua and Mushim Ahmed, Dy SP Hqrs. Kathua and other police officers were present on the occasion.
