RAJOURI, Aug 10: Demanding ST status to Pahari speaking people, JKPPM, Pahari Youth Front and Pahari Action Committee have announced to hold series of protest demonstration soon after August 15.
This was informed by Advocate Ab Qadar Khan, Madhur Pahari, Shahbaz Khan and Vijay Kochhar while jointly addressing a gathering at Dhoongi in Rajouri.
They appealed Pahari youth to come forward and launch peaceful struggle against the clear cut discrimination meted out with them for the last more than 30 year.
Terming Pahari community more nomadic than Gujjars, they stressed said that Central Government should respect the State Legislative Assembly by responding to the resolution passed by it and referred to the Center for granting Scheduled Tribe (ST) status to Paharies few years ago.
